Wind Power
John
Harnessing wind power is pretty simple: wind
spins propellers/blades, that spin the turbine, and there you go electricity.
Why bother with Wind
Power?
Wind blows at night, and Sun doesn`t shine at
night. Pretty simple explanation; however, think of wind power as an aid to your solar system, or depending on
location wind power can be the only solution.
What are the steps?
There are maps of winds in U.S.A., but they
are not detailed. There can be surveys done, yet the best solution is to see what the conditions throughout the
year are. If living on a hill or by a large body of water, chances are positive for steady breeze.
Is it worth it?
Considering solar panels are much more
expensive and fragile than wind turbines. When even light breeze is present, 4 mph, the turbine can produce
sufficient current to power up lights. It is important to have a battery due to inconsistent wind
conditions. In conclusion, wind power is worth it.
Wind Turbines
From monster wind turbines set to withstand
hurricanes at sea, to small homemade ones, they share the same concept: propellers/blades are spun by wind,
and then the generator spins to produce electricity.
The Summary
Survey your area. If everything checks out
you are good to go, or if not sure build or get one survey wind turbine.
How much will it cost? If you want to buy
already made fancy turbines, then a lot. There are plenty of companies happily charging 3500 for a turbine that can
be built for less than 200.
Less than $200 for a WIND TURBINE,
possible?

Yes it is because I made one myself for less
than $200 including buying all the necessary tools to build one. Therefore, to build more than one, the cost will
go down significantly. I will reveal one important part, the expensive propellers/blades can be bought
online for fraction of the cost or made at home in 10 minutes not using glue or any other complicated way
for less than 20 dollars.
